Eastern Circles and l’IHEDN (l’Institut des hautes études de défense nationale), in partnership with Chatham House and Diplomatie magazine, organize a symposium « Ukraine: 4 fronts of war » within the ACADEM discussion series.
It will take place on Friday, December 8, 2023, 9:30 to 17:00, at Ecole Militaire, amphithéâtre Desvallières.
After more than 600 days of war, characterized by violence, massacres, and fierce resistance, Ukraine has impressed the world. President Zelensky was named the « man of the year » by Time magazine in 2022, Ukrainian lawyer and activist Oleksandra Matviichuk received the Nobel Peace Prize, the Ukrainian Army has become the most trusted institution in the country, as men and women swelled the ranks of volunteers and drafted military personnel. In nearly two years of war, Ukraine has proven its capacity to fight back, is rebuilding the military industry, and has developed new capabilities, such as an indigenous drone industry. The unique feature development is the cooperation between the public sector, business, and civil society in the war effort. While at war, Ukraine has continued to reform its institutions and fight corruption to become a candidate for joining both the EU and NATO.
Our symposium aims to explain, how this country has transformed through fighting on the information, economic, diplomatic, and military fronts of this global war.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.
